This block of briar just happened to possess that glorious magic that every pipe maker loves and seeks: a flawless surface, an impressive grain, a great natural colour... Until the last stretch of polishing I dreaded seeing the appearance of a pit but no, all quiet on all fronts...
But I digress...
Anatolian plateau briar, brass and acrylic form the base of this pipe.
I used a brass reverse tenon and the acrylic stem is lined with delrin.
Despite its weight, this pipe sits comfortably between the teeth, and clenching is easily achievable.
