The Moonshiner

This Poker style pipe was inspired by the distillers and bootleggers of the Prohibition era, who used the darkness of the night and the light of the moon to hide their illegal activities...

The extra aged Turkish briar offers a nice display of birdseyes and flames, while the white marbled acrylic compliments the dark contrast stain.

I ventured away from my beloved brass for the accents, using stainless steel for the cap, the stem ring and the bottom plate. The plate is purposefully off-centered to create the shape of a moon crescent with the briar in which it is inlayed.

The Pagan cross is embedded with crushed obsidian.

I used a stainless steel tenon and a delrin lined mortise for extra solidity.
