This long Victorian-style cutty is inspired by the stories of the Belgian horror/fantasy author Jean Ray.
His tales of the bizarre are often inhabited by gloomy ghosts and sketchy sailors roaming in dark taverns filled with pipe smoke and mystery.
The spotless Turkish briar lent itself nicely to this smooth dark red contrast stain with some hints of purple.
The foot is made of wild boar tusk which I also used to extend the shank, paired with brass.
The brass reverse tenon runs through the shank to enhance the solidity, and the stem is acrylic in a classy black.
At 25gr, it is a perfect pipe for clenching while enjoying a nice book and a dram of brandy.
